BARRIERA PER ABILI

Le barriere architettoniche sono lo specchio di una società poco attenta alle diversità. Questo lavoro si è posto l’intento di riflettere su cosa può, per qualcuno, diventare un ostacolo. L’opera progettata per il museo è andata ad intervenire direttamente sulla struttura dell’edificio realizzando un abbassamento della porta d’entrata. La porta, raggiungendo a questo punto un’altezza di 158 cm da terra, è diventata un ostacolo per i visitatori di statura ‘normale’: una barriera architettonica per abili. Il lavoro è stato filmato durante l’inaugurazione con una telecamera a inquadratura fissa. Il video è la documentazione di come i visitatori si sono rapportati a questo ostacolo imprevisto.
Architectural barriers are the mirror of a society that pays little attention to diversity.This work aims to reflect on what can become an obstacle for someone.The work designed for the museum intervened directly on the structure of the building by lowering the entrance door.The door, brought to a height of 158 cm from the ground, becomes an obstacle for visitors of ‘normal’ stature’: an architectural barrier for the able-bodied.The work was filmed during the inauguration with a fixed camera.The video is the documentation of how the visitors related to this unexpected obstacle.
